Pair of Renaissance carvings Archangels
Spectacular pair of Spanish carved wook pieces, end of century XVI or early XVII century. Represent archangels of whole body, with helmets and armor. The lower half of the body is covered by roleos and ornaments of symbolic character. Carved wood, fabrics, gilded and polychromed. The faces, finely carved and polychrome, they have encarnaduras pink of great expressiveness. The frames, and the rest of the figures, have been prepared with the bowl of red Spanish old and have been gilded with precious metals in a and thorough work of great mastery. Correspond possibly with the doors of an organ or musical instrument of a great temple in Spanish. Presented protected by frames of wrought iron, of recent creation, that allow for their display.
